Roaring Fork Horse Council Letter
Dear Woody Creek Caucus Members,
The Roaring Fork Valley Horse Council (RFVHC) would like to thank the Woody Creek Caucus for allowing us to present to you the importance of having a soft track for pedestrians and equestrians along the Rio Grande Trail. As many of us remember, in 1991, only a soft track was proposed and promised for the citizens of our community. Of course, now we have many miles of bike path. The slick asphalt surfaces are dangerous for horses, can be very hot in the summer for people walking their dogs, and is decidedly more concussive on the human body, especially for older joggers such as myself. Lindsey Utter needs input from everyone so that she can include a soft track in the management plan proposal.
We appreciate your support and hope that many of your members will write to Lindsey Utter (Pitkin OST) for comment on the Rio Grande Trail Management Plan at lindsey.utter@
The comment deadline is April 10th.
On another note, please have all your members check out our new web site (a work in progress) at: www.rfvhorsecouncil.org.
We are having a membership drive, and we encourage you to go to the membership tab print a form, and join for $5, one time fee. You get 10% discount on certain products at the RFV CO OP and you will support the creation and preservation for a sustainable, generational legacy equestrian community.
Thank so much for your time.
